Who we are
AC Consultance supports small and mid sized organisations that want to better understand their market, their clients and their operations, clarify their priorities and build sustainable growth. The firm helps leaders turn scattered data into concrete information, put words and numbers on what teams experience every day and install a calmer, more structured working environment. Founded in Luxembourg by Arnaud Colin, AC Consultance puts nearly twenty years of experience in demanding environments such as Thales, ArcelorMittal and Amazon at the service of local actors, at the crossroads of logistics, finance, data and information systems, with a strong focus on performance management, dashboards and change support.
A career guided by management indicators
Since the start of his career, the common thread in Arnaud Colin’s work has been the creation and use of management indicators that lead to action. An indicator is useful when a director or team manager can look at it during a meeting, make a clear decision, give a concrete instruction and then see, in the following weeks, a measurable movement of that number in the desired direction. The objective is not to produce reports for their own sake, but to build indicators that are precise, reliable and close enough to operations to trigger immediate decisions. Early on, Arnaud focused on collecting data, checking it, enriching it and turning it into information that can be used straight away to correct operational or financial issues. This approach brought him into direct contact with front line teams, support functions and senior management in Europe, North America and other regions, with the recurring aim of linking very different local realities to a small set of steering standards that can be understood everywhere and reused in many consulting situations.
From aeronautics to industrial logistics
The first significant experiences took place in the aerospace sector, at Thales Avionics Helicopters, around retrofit projects for avionics equipment. In practice, the work consisted in organising the return of equipment, tracking parts between workshops and warehouses, stabilising lead times and costs and ensuring that each intervention on on board systems remained visible and under control. Arnaud designed a logistics and financial tracking tool, structured data coming from SAP R 3 and formalised processes with industrial teams so that each manager knew at any time where the equipment under their responsibility stood. This way of working continued at ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions, where he contributed to optimising a network of around two hundred and fifty warehouses in Europe, analysing transport flows, managing slow moving stock and consolidating data from several dozen ERP systems. The central questions were already very close to those of a mid sized company: where are the products, which clients are really served, where do margins go and how should efforts be directed. A performance improvement programme combining commercial, logistics, productivity and safety indicators led him to the final of the ArcelorMittal Performance Awards, confirming the value of patient work on measurement, analysis and change management.
From last-mile delivery to data and artificial intelligence
From 2012 onwards, the journey continued at Amazon Logistics with the rise of last mile delivery and the structuring of large scale distribution networks. Arnaud took part in weekly business reviews, in the design of financial and operational dashboards and in the launch of the Business Intelligence platform PerfectMile, progressively deployed in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, China and other regions for thousands of internal users. The aim was to give operations teams a shared view of lead times, costs, service quality and utilisation of delivery stations so that they could steer their daily decisions. Later, within Amazon Core Transportation Technology, he led international data teams of up to sixty to seventy people spread across several continents, with a global budget of several tens of millions of euros. He contributed to the construction and operation of a global data lake used by several hundred BI, finance and data science teams and worked closely with data science and artificial intelligence teams to design systems able to generate recommendations that are readable and useful for fulfilment centre and transport teams. A large part of this work focused on improving delivery date estimation, which required monitoring the entire chain from planning to final delivery, identifying in detail where delays were created and putting in place mechanisms for steering and continuous improvement.
Putting this experience at the service of small and medium-sized businesses
With AC Consultance, this experience built in large groups is now put at the service of smaller organisations such as fiduciaries, real estate agencies, property managers, service companies or urban logistics actors, in particular in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. The context changes, but the underlying questions remain close: where do requests and cases come from, where are the bottlenecks, which activities really create value and how should human and financial resources be allocated to obtain a lasting effect. AC Consultance helps leaders to see more clearly in their client portfolios, inventories, routes or workload per person or per site, then to structure indicators that speak both to the office and the field. The objective is to create a common language between partners, managers and teams so that everyone understands what is expected, can take informed decisions and contributes to continuous improvement without getting lost in complex spreadsheets.
A structured and human working method
The working method at AC Consultance follows a clear and logical sequence that remains simple for teams to live with and compatible with the constraints of daily operations. The starting point is always a structured assessment that takes into account existing tools, current reports, informal practices and regulatory constraints, in particular in terms of data protection and compliance. This step relies on interviews and on site observations to understand how work is actually done in offices, on sites and with external partners. It is followed by mapping information and decision flows, with a clear description of how files, assets, invoices or client requests circulate through the organisation. This makes it possible to spot friction points. Together with management and the teams involved, this mapping then feeds the selection of a limited number of key indicators that reflect both the company’s priorities and day to day realities. Once these indicators are defined, the firm helps to set up regular meetings where numbers are used as a basis to decide, adjust and follow actions over time. Support includes formalising new processes, helping managers to run these steering routines and paying attention to the pace at which teams adopt them, so that stable and useful habits can take root.
A partner connected to technological developments
The experience acquired in highly technological environments allows AC Consultance to stay in step with developments around cloud, data and artificial intelligence while keeping a pragmatic approach that fits the real needs of small and mid sized organisations. Projects carried out with data science and AI teams on large data volumes provide a concrete understanding of what these technologies can bring and of the conditions needed for them to remain controlled, understandable and genuinely useful for end users. This knowledge is now used to help clients choose reasonable solutions for their digital transformation projects, whether it is about automating data extraction, structuring dashboards, improving the quality of client databases or using AI components to simplify analysis and reporting, while respecting requirements for security, confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
An ambition focused on people, local impact and concrete results
The ambition of AC Consultance can be summed up in three words: human, local and concrete. Human, because the work focuses on relationships between leaders, managers and teams and on how tools and indicators can improve exchanges instead of making them more complex, by supporting a culture of cooperation and shared responsibility. Local, because every organisation operates in a specific territory, legal framework and economic fabric, whether it is the financial centre, the property market, the public sector or a logistics basin in Luxembourg and its neighbouring regions. Concrete, finally, because each assignment aims for visible results: better visibility on margins, better controlled lead times, a more balanced workload, higher service quality or a calmer working atmosphere. By bringing together experience from aerospace, steel, logistics and large scale data, AC Consultance offers leaders of small and mid sized organisations a partner who understands their constraints, speaks their language and builds with them durable solutions for steering and organisation.
